An outstanding effort by Alex Boyd spurred the Bellevue (18-3) to a 10-6 win in seven innings over the Edmonds (9-5) on Saturday at Bellevue College- Softball Fiel.
Boyd blasted two home runs for the Bellevue. Boyd went 2-3 in the game with two RBIs and three runs scored. Boyd homered in the third and fourth innings.
The Edmonds jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Edmonds led until the fourth inning, but the Bellevue took the lead back on a three-run home run by Rachael Delamare.
The Edmonds couldn't get anything going as long as Payton Gibbs was pitching. The Edmonds managed just two hits off of the the Bellevue's pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his four innings of work.
Hannah Wilcox racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Edmonds. He homered in the third inning.
Hailey Malakowski (7-5) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
