Kayla Byers held the Centralia (6-4) scoreless for six innings to boost the Mt. Hood (10-2) to a 8-0 victory.

Byers allowed three hits, two walks and struck out eight.

The Mt. Hood's Byers showed his talents on both sides of the diamond with a strong game on the hill and at the plate.

Byers racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Mt. Hood. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Everything was working at the plate for the the Mt. Hood in the sixth. In the inning the Mt. Hood scored five runs. The Mt. Hood scored in the sixth on an error, a groundout by Maddy Newkirk, an error, an RBI single by Rachel Rutledge, an RBI single by Rutledge, and an RBI single by Byers.

Emily Benton was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out three.
