The Mt. Hood seventh-inning burst enough to top the Clark, 18-3

The Mt. Hood (33-8) beat the Clark (15-23) 18-3 in seven innings on Friday at Clark Softball Field after an 11-run explosion in the seventh inning.

The Mt. Hood scored in the seventh on an RBI single by Rachel Rutledge, a two-run error, a two-run single by Sammie Byron, an RBI single by Reeghan Lehnert, a two-run double by Darian Lindsey, an RBI single by Rutledge, an RBI single by Megan Marcy, and an RBI single by Karli Butler.

Marcy racked up eight RBIs on three hits for the Mt. Hood.

Nicole OHaver went a perfect 5-5 at the dish for the Clark. He singled in the first, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.

Byron got the win, running his season record to 8-2. He allowed two runs over 3 1/3 innings. Byron struck out two, walked none and gave up nine hits.

Madison Plummer (6-13) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked four and struck out eight.
