Saturday was a great day for Michele Strauss, as Strauss tossed a shutout to carry the Spokane (28-14) to a 2-0 victory over the Yakima Valley (5-35) at Spokane Falls Community College in seven innings.
Strauss kept contact to a minimum, striking out 14 the Yakima Valley batters. The Spokane's pitcher gave up just two hits over seven shutout innings.
Beth Anderson couldn't get it done on the hill for the Yakima Valley, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
