The Douglas fifth-inning burst enough to top the Everett, 10-4

The Douglas (20-6) blew out the Everett (15-16) 10-4 on Saturday at Softball City after pouring on seven runs in the fifth inning.

The Douglas scored in the fifth on a two-run double by Daniella Vilio, an RBI single by Taylor Woodward, a two-run single by Madison Heggie, and a two-run single by Michaela Moore.

Siara Couper racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Douglas. He homered in the third inning and doubled in the fifth innings.

Kiana Smith rocked the Douglas with two home runs. Smith went 2-4 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Smith homered in the first and third innings.

Keeley Ainge recorded his eleventh win of the year for the Douglas. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out eight, walked one and surrendered eight hits.

Rylee Thomas took the loss for the Everett. He allowed 10 runs in six innings, walked six and struck out six.
