Byers helps the Mt. Hood down the Lower Columbia 11-6

Kayla Byers knocked in four runs, helping the Mt. Hood (21-7) to an 11-6 victory over the Lower Columbia (23-6) on Saturday at Tam O' Shanter Park.

He singled in the first and second innings and homered in the fourth inning.

Jessica Gibson had two extra-base hits for the Lower Columbia. He doubled in the fifth inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Byers recorded his tenth win for the Mt. Hood even though he allowed six runs over seven innings. Byers struck out six, walked none and gave up 15 hits.

Bailey Ellis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out none.
