The Linn-Benton (2-2) jumped out to an early lead on the Corban and captured an 11-4 victory on Friday at LBCC Baseball Field .

With five runs in the first three innings, the Linn-Benton left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Luke Rappe in the first inning and an RBI single by Colton Cosner, a groundout by Jack Bauer, an RBI single by Jordan Thompson, and an RBI single by Thompson during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Linn-Benton.

Caleb Smith went a perfect 5-5 at the plate for the Linn-Benton. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the third, fifth, sixth, and eighth innings.

Nolan Bastendorff pitched lights out for the Linn-Benton. Bastendorff held the Corban hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Sweeny was solid at the plate for the Corban. Sweeny went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third and fourth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Dusenbury took the loss for the Corban. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
