The Yakima Valley (19-8) beat the Blue Mountain (9-14) 2-1 on Wednesday at Blue Mountain behind Alec Chaney, who collected three hits.
He doubled in the first inning and singled in the third and fifth innings.The Yakima Valley got the win thanks in large part to Chris Petrosie's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Petrosie allowed one earned run, three hits and three walks over seven innings.
Brock Breshears pitched eight innings and allowed two earned runs, seven hits and three walks while striking out four.
Breshears (1-5) took the loss for the Blue Mountain.
