Josh Silver hit two home runs to carry the River City Rascals (3-1) to a 9-5 win over the Southern Illinois Miners (1-2) at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

Silver racked up eight RBIs on two hits for the River City Rascals. He homered in the fourth and eighth innings.

Aaron Gates was solid at the plate for the Southern Illinois Miners. Gates went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and fourth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Lucas Laster improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the River City Rascals. Laster struck out none, walked one and gave up no hits.

Rick Teasley (0-1) took the loss for the Southern Illinois Miners. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
