Fourth-inning rally sparks blowout win for the Columbia Basin, 9-0

The Columbia Basin (10-4) beat the Yakima Valley 9-0 in five innings on Saturday at CBC Softball Field after a five-run explosion in the fourth inning.

The Columbia Basin scored in the fourth on a sacrifice fly by Maddy Lesser, a double by Carlie Wyant, , a single by Megan McMurrin, a two-run single by Maddy Jones, and a solo home run by Kayla Andrews.

Wyant racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Columbia Basin.

Andrews improved to 10-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Columbia Basin. Andrews struck out six, walked none and gave up no hits.

Beth Anderson was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in four innings, walked two and struck out two.
