Highline vs Columbia Basin: 4-11

The Columbia Basin jump on the Highline early and coast to 11-4 win

The Columbia Basin (7-3) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Highline (2-6), recording an 11-4 victory on Saturday at CBC Softball Field.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Columbia Basin left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

, , , and in the first inning and an error and an error during the second inning supplied the early offense for the Columbia Basin.

Megan McMurrin was hot from the plate for the Columbia Basin. McMurrin went 4-5, drove in one and scored three runs. He singled in the first, second, fourth, and sixth innings.

Megan Hewitt-Chan paced the Highline at the plate. Hewitt-Chan went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fourth and sixth innings.

Kayla Andrews improved to 7-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Columbia Basin. He allowed four runs over seven innings. He struck out nine, walked three and surrendered seven hits.

Precious Tabangcura (0-2) took the loss for the Highline. He lasted just one inning, walked five, struck out none, and allowed three runs.
