Andrews leads the Columbia Basin to 8-2 victory

Kayla Andrews carried the Columbia Basin (6-3) to a 8-2 victory over the Mt. Hood on Sunday at CBC Softball Field with a strong game at the plate and on the rubber.

Andrews racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Columbia Basin. He singled in the first innings and doubled in the second inning.

Andrews' eight strikeouts were enough to push the Columbia Basin past the Mt. Hood (8-2). Andrews allowed one earned run on six hits and one walk over seven innings.

The biggest inning for the Columbia Basin was the second. The Mt. Hood had no answer as the Columbia Basin scored five runs. The Columbia Basin scored in the second on a hit by pitch, a double by Andrews, a groundout by Emily Dubois, a double by Kadi Patterson, an RBI single by Sarah Gilliam, and a single by Gilliam.

Sammie Byron couldn't get it done on the hill for the Mt. Hood, taking a loss. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
