Andrews hits and pitches the Columbia Basin to 6-0 victory

Kayla Andrews came up big at the dish and on the bump, leading the Columbia Basin (5-0) to a 6-0 win over the Everett on Friday at CBC Softball Field.

Andrews racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Columbia Basin. He singled in the first inning, homered in the third inning, and doubled in the fourth inning.

Andrews held the Everett (0-2) scoreless during his five innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out five.

The Columbia Basin blew out the Everett thanks to 13 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Columbia Basin scored three runs in the third on the Columbia Basin scored in the third on a two-run home run by Andrews and an RBI double by Sarah Gilliam.

Scarlett Nyenhuis ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked none and struck out two.
