Ethan Hammond tossed a shutout to lift the Ontario (5-0) to a 6-0 win over the Manitoba (4-2) at BBoys Vaughan Grove one in seven innings.
Hammond's 12 strikeouts were enough to push the Ontario past the Manitoba. The Ontario's pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only three hits.
Everything was working at the plate for the the Ontario in the third. The Manitoba had no answer as the Ontario scored five runs. The Ontario scored in the third on an RBI single by Varun Kuo, a two-run single by Owen Lalonde, an RBI single by Blake Buckle, and a sacrifice fly by Hammond.
Lalonde racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Ontario.
Martin Gisiger (2-1) took the loss for the Manitoba. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
