Early lead gives the Manitoba easy victory over the Prince Edward Island, 16-0

Story by Narrative Science.

The Manitoba (3-0) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Prince Edward Island (2-1), recording a 16-0 victory on Thursday.

With eight runs in the first three innings, the Manitoba left no doubt about the eventual outcome.

An RBI single by Chad Picton, an RBI single by Adam Senden, , and during the first inning and a single by Tristan Peters and a groundout by Shayne Campbell in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Manitoba.

The Manitoba were led by a flawless day at the dish by Peters, who went 3-3 against the Prince Edward Island's pitching.

The Prince Edward Island had no answer for Colin Stenberg, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Prince Edward Island managed just one hit off of Stenberg, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Martin Gisiger recorded his first win of the year for the Manitoba. Gisiger struck out none, walked none and gave up no hits.

Connor Jones (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed 11 runs in three innings, walked six and struck out seven.
