Skyler Shaw-Fuss hopes every outing could go as well as Sunday, as Shaw-Fuss tossed a shutout to carry the Regina Red Sox (5-1) to a 1-0 victory over the Weyburn Beavers (3-3) at Tom Laing Park.
Shaw-Fuss held the Weyburn Beavers scoreless during his nine innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no opposing players to cross the plate on three hits while ringing up four.
Gabe Snyder had two extra-base hits for the Regina Red Sox. He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the fifth and ninth innings.
A bright spot for the Weyburn Beavers in the defeat was Ryan Johnson, who allowed only one run while striking out 11.
Johnson was charged with his first loss of the year.
