Sixth-inning rally sparks blowout win for the San Diego Waves, 10-2

The San Diego Waves (1-1) blew out the Northwest Honkers 10-2 on Sunday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium after pouring on seven runs in the sixth inning.

The San Diego Waves scored in the sixth on an RBI single by Brendan Holler, an RBI single by Mitch Bumann, an RBI double by Ryan Torres-Torioka, a two-run single by Andrew McWilliam, and a two-run single by Noaln Barraza.

Barraza had two extra-base hits for the San Diego Waves.

The Northwest Honkers (0-2) had no answer for Michael Lopez, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Northwest Honkers managed just one hit off of Lopez, who allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Jacob Zanon was hot from the plate for the Northwest Honkers. Zanon went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.

Brad Bennett (0-1) took the loss for the Northwest Honkers. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.

Holler, McWilliam, Barraza and Torres-Torioka helped lead the San Diego Waves. They combined for 11 hits and seven RBIs.
