Ty Holm collected three hits, sparking the Seattle Studs (2-0) to a 3-2 victory over the Wellington Heat (5-1) on Sunday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Cody Culp pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out four.

A bright spot for the Wellington Heat in the defeat was Daulton Lieker, who allowed only two runs while striking out five.

Matt Heck was hot from the plate for the Wellington Heat. Heck went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second inning and homered in the seventh inning.

Taylor Thompson recorded his first win of the year for the Seattle Studs. He allowed one run over 1 2/3 innings. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Lieker ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
