The Santa Barbara Foresters jump on the San Antonio Titans early and coast to 9-3 win

The Santa Barbara Foresters (1-0) jumped out to an early lead on the San Antonio Titans (0-1) and captured a 9-3 victory on Saturday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed the Santa Barbara Foresters to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Matt Henderson, an RBI single by Jeremy Montalbano, and an error during the first inning supplied the early offense for the Santa Barbara Foresters.

Ryan Chandler was hot from the plate for the Santa Barbara Foresters. Chandler went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third innings and singled in the sixth inning.

Gary Cornish struck out seven, paving the way for a the Santa Barbara Foresters win. Cornish allowed two earned runs, three hits and two walks over seven innings.

Lane Kelly got a hit in each of his two at bats. He singled in the third and eighth innings.

Jaryd Hodgson couldn't get it done on the mound for the San Antonio Titans, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out two.
