A superb effort by Mitch Patishall carried the Victor RailRiders (3-0) to a 6-1 win over the Elmira Pioneers (0-2) on Saturday at Dunn Field.

The Elmira Pioneers couldn't get anything going so long as Patishall was on the hill. The Elmira Pioneers managed just two hits off of Patishall, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out six during his eight innings of work.

Mark Cardinalli did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Victor RailRiders, reaching base three times. He doubled in the second innings and singled in the third inning.

Despite the loss, the Elmira Pioneers' Kyano Cummings dominated the Victor RailRiders' batters, giving up three runs and striking out seven.

Cummings ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year.
