Loera's single propels the Columbia Basin past the Walla Walla, 9-4

The Columbia Basin (28-11) jumped on the Walla Walla (21-15) early on their way to a 9-4 win on Saturday at Columbia Basin Baseball Field, scoring five runs in the first inning.

The Columbia Basin scored in the first on an RBI single by Drew Loera, a three-run home run by Parker Coffey, and a groundout by Spencer Bennion.

Zack Chamberlain went a perfect 3-3 at the dish for the Columbia Basin. He singled in the first, sixth, and seventh innings.

Dylan Wilbert reached base three times. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He doubled in the eighth inning.

Austin Bergdahl improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Columbia Basin. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out none, walked 10 and surrendered two hits.

Jarrod Molnaa (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
