The Columbia Basin need extra frames to finish the Big Bend, win 8-4

The Columbia Basin (25-9) outlasted the Big Bend (21-9) at BBCC Baseball Field 8-4 on Wednesday after 10 innings.

With the score tied at three in the tenth inning, reached on an error, plating Brendan McClary.

McClary paced the Columbia Basin at the plate. McClary went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the second and fifth innings and doubled in the tenth inning.

Karver Pate handled the Big Bend's lineup with ease, racking up eight strikeouts. Pate allowed one earned run on six hits and no walks over seven innings.

Auggie Francis was solid at the plate for the Big Bend. Francis went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the ninth inning.

Nick Crawford recorded his third win of the year for the Columbia Basin. He allowed three runs over three innings. Crawford struck out two, walked none and gave up four hits.

Jaime Vela ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
