Alex Cruz went 4-4 at the plate, helping the San Diego Force (3-1) to a 7-3 victory over the California Golden Bear (2-2) on Tuesday at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium.

He doubled in the second inning, singled in the fourth and sixth innings, and homered in the eighth inning.

James Bunda racked up eight strikeouts in the the San Diego Force win. Bunda allowed three earned runs on five hits and no walks over seven innings.

A bright spot for the California Golden Bear in the defeat was Braden Riddle, who allowed only two runs while striking out six.

Bobby Reynolds was hot from the plate for the California Golden Bear. Reynolds went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the second inning.
