The Alameda Merchants (23-16) beat the San Francisco Seagulls (24-20) 7-3 on Sunday at Fairmont Field behind Christian Leung, who had two extra base hits.

The San Francisco Seagulls couldn't get anything going as long as Tyler Rathjen was pitching. Rathjen gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his two innings of work.

Dalton Pizzuti got on base three times in the game for the San Francisco Seagulls. He also drove in two runners. He doubled in the sixth inning.

Tucker McPhaul recorded his second win of the year for the Alameda Merchants. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Jared Koenig (4-3) took the loss for the San Francisco Seagulls. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

The Alameda Merchants' Michael Perri, Leung, Thomas Peter and Spencer Erdman combined for nine hits and seven RBIs.
