The Rockford Aviators (30-22) came out firing, but couldn't hang on to the lead, ending up on the losing side of a 6-4 ballgame against the River City Rascals (29-24) on Sunday at Aviator Stadium.

While the Rockford Aviators led until the seventh inning, the River City Rascals worked their way back and took the lead on a two-run single by Curran Redal.

Redal racked up three RBIs on one hit for the River City Rascals. He singled in the seventh inning.

The Rockford Aviators' lineup had no answer for Will Schierholz. Schierholz held the Rockford Aviators hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Matt Frahm (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
