The Ontario one (1-0) rolled over the Saskatchewan 11-3 on Thursday at Regina Optimist Baseball Park after a seven-run rally in the fifth inning.
The Ontario one scored in the fifth on an RBI single by Ross Barker, a two-run single by Matt Deneau, an RBI single by Casey Boutette, a two-run double by Crannel Jerald, and a sacrifice fly by Chris Horwood.
Horwood racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Ontario one.
Benjamin Baltrusiunas put together a nice outing. The Saskatchewan (0-1) managed just four hits off of Baltrusiunas, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his five innings of work.
Brandon Chow had two extra-base hits for the Saskatchewan. He doubled in the second and seventh innings.
Jonathon Matity couldn't get it done on the hill for the Saskatchewan, taking a loss. He lasted just four innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
