The Vienna River Dogs (21-18) beat the Alexandria Aces (18-21) 9-4 in seven innings on Wednesday at Frank Mann Field behind Jack Owens, who collected three hits.

The Alexandria Aces were led by Alex Stephens's hitting. Stephens went 3-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the seventh inning.

Jordon Accetta recorded his third win of the year for the Vienna River Dogs. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered eight hits.

Jeremy Larkey was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
