Sessa stars as the West Palm Beach Sharks defeat the Florida Pokers, 11-10

A great effort by Ronnie Sessa carried the West Palm Beach Sharks (10-14) to an 11-10 win over the Florida Pokers (10-16) on Monday at John I Leonard H.S.

Sessa racked up six RBIs on four hits for the West Palm Beach Sharks. He doubled in the third inning, homered in the first and sixth innings, and singled in the seventh inning.

Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 21 runs and 25 hits, including zero extra base hits. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using seven pitchers in total.

The West Palm Beach Sharks scored six runs in the first inning to build an early lead. The West Palm Beach Sharks scored in the first on an RBI single by Zander Retamar, a hit by pitch, and a home run by Sessa.

Thomas Harper got his first win for the West Palm Beach Sharks despite allowing five runs over four innings. He struck out three, walked four and surrendered seven hits.

Jonathan Gonzalez couldn't get it done on the bump for the Florida Pokers, taking a loss. He allowed 11 runs in six innings, walked six and struck out seven.
