Fitzsimmons helps the Albany Dutchmen down the Saugerties Stallions 2-1

Michael Fitzsimmons had two extra base hits, helping the Albany Dutchmen (23-26) to a 2-1 victory over the Saugerties Stallions (14-35) on Tuesday at CPSC-Bob Bellizzi Field.

He doubled in the fourth inning.

Brandon Nylin allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks while striking out three over six innings of work.

Nick Williams was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Albany Dutchmen batters and allowing two runs.

Pat Dorrian had a hot bat for the Saugerties Stallions. Dorrian went 2-3 and scored one run. He tripled in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Zak Spivy improved to 3-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Albany Dutchmen. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Williams ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year.
