Patrick Young was cold coming off the bench, but Young warmed up quickly as Young stroked a key pinch-hit single in the five to lead the Prince Edward Island (2-1) to an 8-5 win over the Nova Scotia (1-1) on Friday at BBoys Vaughan Grove two.

With the score tied at five, Young came to the plate and singled.

Gabriel Penalver racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Prince Edward Island. He singled in the fifth and sixth innings.

The Nova Scotia couldn't get anything going so long as Josh Myers was on the hill. Myers held the Nova Scotia hitless over 1 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three.

Ethan Francis improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Prince Edward Island. He allowed three runs over four innings. He struck out five, walked one and surrendered three hits.

Tyson Slauenwhite couldn't get it done on the hill for the Nova Scotia, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed no runs.
