The Herndon Braves (15-15) and the Bethesda Big Train (22-9) both threatened with rallies, but it was the Herndon Braves that eventually took advantage of them in a 2-1 win at Herndon High School.
Andy Mocahbee paced the Herndon Braves at the plate. Mocahbee went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the sixth inning.
Jack Fant picked up the win for the Herndon Braves. Fant pitched six innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out five.
Chris Monaco was effective even in defeat, mowing down six the Herndon Braves batters and allowing two runs.
