The North Shore Navigators uses big first inning to beat the Seacoast Mavericks, 12-1

The North Shore Navigators (22-17) beat the Seacoast Mavericks (12-25) 12-1 in seven innings on Sunday at Fraser Field after an eight-run explosion in the first inning.

The North Shore Navigators scored in the first on a two-run single by Kyle Devin, an RBI single by Scott Hovey, a two-run single by MacDaniel Singleton, an RBI single by Brandon Fischer, and a two-run triple by Maxx Sheehan.

Fischer boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the North Shore Navigators.

John Lavoie improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the North Shore Navigators. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Evan Flood ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in one inning, walked two and struck out one.

The North Shore Navigators pounded the Seacoast Mavericks pitching, as six hitters combined for 15 hits, 11 RBIs and nine runs scored.
