Jamie Smith was cold coming off the bench, but Smith warmed up quickly as Smith stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the Herndon Braves (7-10) to a 7-1 win over the Baltimore Dodgers (7-12) on Monday at Herndon High School.

With the game scoreless in the first inning Smith came to the plate and singled, scoring Michael Smith.

The biggest inning for the Herndon Braves was the seventh. In the inning the Herndon Braves scored four runs. The Herndon Braves scored in the seventh on an RBI single by Jack Hamner, , and a two-run double by Andy Mocahbee.

Jack Fant picked up the win for the Herndon Braves. Fant allowed one earned run, four hits and no walks while striking out four over seven innings of work.

Derrick Sylve (0-3) took the loss for the Baltimore Dodgers. He allowed seven runs in six innings, walked three and struck out five.
