Aaron Case was cold coming off the bench, but Case warmed up quickly as Case stroked a key pinch-hit single in the eight to lead the Danville Dans (25-21) to a 3-2 win over the Hannibal Cavemen (10-32) on Thursday at Danville Stadium.
With the Danville Dans trailing by one in the eighth inning, Case came to the plate and singled.
Michael McCormick pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk while striking out two.
Brian Allec got the win, running his season record to 4-1. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Zak Wallner ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
