Nick Gawley went 2-5, sparking the Mt. Hood (32-12) to a 6-3 victory over the Walla Walla (31-16) on Thursday at David Story Field.
He singled in the sixth inning and doubled in the seventh innings.Jarod Paul paced the Walla Walla at the plate. Paul went 3-4 and scored two runs. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and sixth innings.
Joe Balfour recorded his ninth win of the year for the Mt. Hood. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Balfour struck out one, walked two and gave up eight hits.
Jake Simmons (7-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
