The Edmonton Prospects (8-8) beat the Melville Millionaires (4-13) 14-2 on Tuesday at The Ball Yard at Rossdale after an eight-run explosion in the eighth inning.
The Edmonton Prospects scored in the eighth on a two-run single by Bryn Redhead, an RBI single by Logan Wedgewood, an RBI single by Derek Shedden, , a wild pitch, and a two-run single by Anthony Olson.
Olson reached base five times. He scored three runs and had two RBIs.
Kyle Garvin's six strikeouts were enough to push the Edmonton Prospects past the Melville Millionaires. Garvin allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks over seven innings.
Curtis Johnson couldn't get it done on the hill for the Melville Millionaires, taking a loss. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
