A walk-off single from Rob DeCosta brought home the winning run for the RR Construction (9-8) in a 7-6 victory over the RR Legion in 10 innings at Cardines Field (Newport) on Tuesday.
DeCosta racked up three RBIs on three hits for the RR Construction. He singled in the first, eighth, and tenth innings.
Tyler Santaniello boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 5-5 day at the plate to pace the RR Construction. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the first, fourth, eighth, and tenth innings.
The RR Legion (9-9) were led by Jon Beaupre's hitting. Beaupre went 2-3 and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning.
Ryan ODell improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the RR Construction. He allowed four runs over six innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered eight hits.
Brian Baker ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
