Ben Monteiro went 1-1, sparking the RR Legion (4-1) to a 3-0 victory over the Mudville (3-3) on Thursday at Cardines Field (Newport).

Kevin Pittine put together a nice outing. The Mudville managed just one hit off of Pittine, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out seven during his four innings of work.

Josh Sokol allowed one earned run, seven hits and three walks while striking out three over eight innings of work.

Aaron Choiunard improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the RR Legion. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Sokol was charged with his second loss of the year.
