The Westcott (1-1) built an early edge on Saturday, but the Mudville (1-2) roared back to steal a 2-1 victory at Cardines Field (Newport).

While the Westcott led until the fourth inning, the Mudville worked their way back and took the lead.

The Mudville relied on Zach Yates to eat up innings en route to the win. Yates allowed one earned run, four hits and three walks while striking out five over eight innings of work.

Dylan Pingitore (1-1) took the loss for the Westcott. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
