Brent Firth had two extra base hits, helping the Shoreline (15-15) to a 3-1 victory over the Douglas (8-15) on Sunday at Meridian.
He homered in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning.The Shoreline relied on Brad Bennett to eat up innings en route to the win. Bennett pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out three.
Jacob Robazza got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the second, fifth, and seventh innings.
Jamie Whitehead couldn't get it done on the hill for the Douglas, taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed three runs.
The Shoreline's Firth, Sam Ballweg and Jacob Zanon combined for eight hits and two RBIs.
