An ace performance by Nathan Hunter carried the Mt. Hood (18-7) to a 6-0 win in seven innings over the Chemeketa (12-11) on Friday at Mt. Hood .
Hunter held the Chemeketa scoreless during his seven innings of work. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out five.
Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Mt. Hood to easily put away the Chemeketa. A sacrifice fly by Nolan McCall and a sacrifice fly by Thomas Lane during the first inning and a two-run double by Kody Matthews in the second inning fueled the Mt. Hood's offense early.
Matthews racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Mt. Hood.
Carson Dwyre (0-2) took the loss for the Chemeketa. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out none.
