Brett Netzer went 2-4, sparking the Alexandria Aces (19-21) to a 3-1 victory over the Bethesda Big Train (29-11) on Friday at Shirley Povich Field.

The Alexandria Aces couldn't get anything going so long as Brock Larson was on the hill. Larson gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out two during his three innings of work.
Matthew Doughty recorded his first win of the year for the Alexandria Aces. Doughty struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
Walker Sheller ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed one run.
