Evan Mendoza had two extra base hits as the Baltimore Dodgers (13-26) took home a 6-3 victory over the Rockville Express (17-22) at Montgomery College on Thursday.
He doubled in the fifth and ninth innings.Derrick Sylve picked up the win for the Baltimore Dodgers. Sylve pitched nine innings and allowed three earned runs, eight hits and three walks while striking out four.
The Rockville Express were led by Jason Reyes's hitting. Reyes went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the fifth inning.
The Baltimore Dodgers had no answer for Matt Schaeffer, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Baltimore Dodgers managed just three hits off of the the Rockville Express' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out three during his four innings of work.
Corey Howard (0-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out three.
