A magnificent effort by Alan Mocahbee lifted the Herndon Braves (18-20) to a 10-8 win over the D.C. Grays (17-21) on Monday at Washington Nationals Academy.
Mocahbee rocked the D.C. Grays with two home runs. Mocahbee went 2-4 in the game with four RBIs and two runs scored. Mocahbee homered in the second and fifth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 18 total runs and 19 hits during the game. Managers of the two teams seemingly emptied their bullpens in search of the win, as there were six pitchers used in the game.
Quinn Carpenter racked up two RBIs on two hits for the D.C. Grays. He homered in the second inning and singled in the ninth innings.
Jack Fant recorded his third win of the year for the Herndon Braves. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered four hits.
Maverik Buffo (2-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked one and struck out five.
