Luke Westerberg went 2-3, helping the Rockville Express (15-18) to a 4-3 victory over the Gaithersburg Giants (9-23) on Thursday at Montgomery College.

Brandon Fleming pitched lights out for the Rockville Express. Fleming held the Gaithersburg Giants hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Tim Kelly put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Gaithersburg Giants. He singled in the second inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and tripled in the eighth inning.

Nick DeCarlo had an impressive outing against the Rockville Express' lineup. DeCarlo held the Rockville Express hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Anthony Vattuone got the win, running his season record to 3-0. He allowed one run over two innings. Vattuone struck out three, walked none and gave up three hits.

Zach Hodgkiss ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
