The SW Oregon fourth-inning burst enough to top the Linfield JV, 8-1

A five-run explosion in the fourth inning spurred the SW Oregon (8-13) to an 8-1 win over the Linfield JV on Saturday.

The SW Oregon scored in the fourth on an RBI single by Austin White, a two-run single by Kyohei Makita, an RBI single by Domenic Hammudeh, and an RBI double by Tyler Raskin.

Jayson Hicks did his best to jumpstart the offense for the SW Oregon, reaching base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

Tanner Crooks pitched lights out for the SW Oregon. Crooks gave up just two hits, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his three innings of work.

Shane Doke got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out three, walked none and surrendered eight hits.

Callahan Neely took the loss for the Linfield JV. He allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked four and struck out five.
