A walk-off single from Zach Kirtley brought home the winning run for the Bethesda Big Train (17-3) in a 6-5 victory over the Alexandria Aces at Shirley Povich Field on Sunday.
Kirtley was solid at the plate for the Bethesda Big Train. Kirtley went 2-5 and drove in one. He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
Brandon Hunley racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Bethesda Big Train. He doubled in the seventh inning and singled in the third and ninth innings.
Tad Sobieszczanski led the Alexandria Aces (7-11)'s offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Michael Rescigno got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Rescigno struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.
