Story by Narrative Science.

The Bethesda Big Train (16-3) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Gaithersburg Giants (4-13), recording an 11-0 victory on Friday at Shirley Povich Field.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Bethesda Big Train to put the game away early.

A sacrifice fly by Zach Kirtley, a sacrifice fly by Kirtley, and a sacrifice fly by Chris Lewis during the first inning and an RBI single by Logan Farrar and a two-run single by Cody Brown in the second inning supplied the early offense for the Bethesda Big Train.

Kirtley racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Bethesda Big Train.

The Bethesda Big Train got the win thanks in large part to Alex Calvert's dominant, four-strikeout performance. The Bethesda Big Train's pitcher gave up just four hits over five shutout innings.

Braden Pearson (0-2) took the loss for the Gaithersburg Giants. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out none.
