The Baltimore Redbirds (14-4) and the Gaithersburg Giants (4-12) each put runners in scoring position on Wednesday, but the Baltimore Redbirds capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out an 8-4 win at Calvert Hall HS.
Will Golsan led the Baltimore Redbirds' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had two RBIs. He tripled in the sixth inning.
Dakota Forsyth picked up the win for the Baltimore Redbirds. Forsyth pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out five.
Dylan Tamecki had a hot bat for the Gaithersburg Giants. Tamecki went 3-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the eighth and ninth innings.
Ryan Selmer was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked four and struck out three.
