A superb effort by Emerson Gibbs spurred the Baltimore Redbirds (12-3) to a 3-0 win over the Alexandria Aces (5-7) on Saturday at Calvert Hall HS.
The Baltimore Redbirds got the win thanks in large part to Gibbs' dominant, 10-strikeout performance. The Baltimore Redbirds' pitcher tossed eight innings of shutout ball and allowed only five hits.
Kevin Superko ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
